Scam Alert - Hype Events/One Direction
I just got a call back for interview from this company called Hype Events, but the inconsistent details were everywhere, so I figured I should give you guys a headsup.
I found this post in this subreddit, which was talking about almost the exact format and made me realize it is probably the same scam with a different company name.
- The email format looks the same.
- The website looks generic and suspicious with typos, unfinished details and not-working links everywhere.
- The linkedin page is very new, created about a month ago.
- The name the woman gave herself was different from the name in the email.
- She claimed she knew very little about the position as she was the "coordinator", despite she works in HR.
It leads back to a "UK" company called One Direction (that's the name mentioned in the woman's callback and I did find it in my linkedin application history), which also has a generic Wordpress website with no actual information about the company. This company was also mentioned in the Dynamic Solutions scam. I am so glad I decided to search the company online then I found this. I would've wasted two hours of commute time and gas for this position interview.
