What I actually eat in a day while trying to improve my eczema

A few people asked what my daily eating looks like, so I wanted to share a more concrete example.

Again, this is just what I personally do — I’m still experimenting and figuring things out.

During the day:

I cook mostly with ghee or extra virgin olive oil (not refined oils)

1–2 eggs (sometimes as a vegetable omelette)

Olives

Vegetables (steamed, oven-roasted, or lightly sautéed)

Sweet potatoes or boiled potatoes

Nuts like almonds, pecans, and Brazil nuts

Occasionally buckwheat bread if I really crave bread

Snacks:

Almonds

Berries (except strawberries)

1–2 spoons of tahini

Green tea or herbal teas (like St. John’s Wort tea)

Dinner:

Meat (mostly fish, lamb, turkey, duck — I rarely eat chicken or beef)

Salad (no tomatoes)

Or meat with roasted vegetables

Sometimes, simple olive oil-based dishes

I tend to keep meals very simple and repeat similar foods. I’m not following a strict plan — just trying to reduce variables and observe how my skin reacts.

Still trying to understand what actually makes the difference.

After 10 years of eczema & psoriasis, my skin suddenly started clearing — I didn’t expect diet to matter this much

I accidentally deleted my previous post, so reposting it here:

I didn’t change my diet for weight loss — my main reason was long-term eczema and psoriasis that started after I became a mother.

For about 10 years, I went to different dermatologists. Most of the time, I was given cortisone creams and sent home. No one really looked deeper into possible underlying causes.

Over time, my condition got worse and spread to my scalp and parts of my body. I started feeling pretty hopeless.

While researching on my own, I kept coming across the same ideas: immune system and gut health.

So in November 2025, I decided to change my eating habits.

For the first 4 months… nothing really changed. I almost gave up.

Then in February, something unexpected happened — around 80% of my scalp had cleared. Some areas on my body improved too.

I still don’t fully understand what caused the shift, but the timing feels too significant to ignore.

I removed a lot of foods to help my eczema & psoriasis — here’s exactly what I cut out

After my last post, a lot of people asked what exactly I removed from my diet.

I want to be very clear — this is not advice, just what I personally decided to try after years of struggling with eczema and psoriasis.

Here’s what I completely (or mostly) cut out in my first 4 months:

Any kind of bread

Animal milk and dairy products

Sugar (as much as possible)

Packaged / processed foods

Canned foods

Tomatoes, peppers, aubergine

Margarine

Vegetable oils like sunflower, canola, palm, soy oil

Fermented foods

Dried fruits

Avocado

Strawberries

Black tea

Smoked foods

Pickles and vinegar

Sauces (almost all)

Soy products

Rice and bulgur

Kale and cauliflower

I know this looks very restrictive — and honestly, it is.

I didn’t do this because I knew it would work. I did it because I had tried many other things over the years and wanted to see if simplifying everything would help.

I’m still not sure which of these actually made the difference (or if it’s a combination of everything).

After 10 years of eczema & psoriasis, my skin suddenly started clearing — I didn’t expect diet to matter this much

I didn’t change my diet to lose weight — I did it because of severe eczema and psoriasis that started after I became a mother.

For 10 years, I saw multiple dermatologists. I was mostly given cortisone creams and sent home. No one really investigated anything deeper like bloodwork or possible underlying causes.

Over time, it spread to my scalp and body, and I started feeling pretty hopeless.

Eventually, I started reading about immune system and gut health, so in November 2025 I changed my eating habits.

For the first 4 months… nothing really changed. I almost gave up.

Then in February, something unexpected happened — around 80% of my scalp had cleared. Some body areas improved too.

I still don’t fully understand what caused the shift, but the timing feels too significant to ignore.

Has anyone experienced a delayed improvement like this after changing diet or lifestyle?
