(last one, i swear!) movie where a family lives on a farm or something and i think one of the daughters was autisitic or someting and there is a scene where someone makes her hold barbed wire in her hand as a punishment? for some reason i think they're sitting in a rocking chair together during this scene? (live action, period movie not sure when, probably released early '00s, usa, english)
(i'm not spamming, i swear lol) movie where two boys go swimming in a freezing cold lake all the time and one always says his toes feel like marbles. eventually one of them dies and the other goes by himself sort of in memorium..? not sure if there is an accident or fatal illness? probably from early 00's but set a bit in the past. (live action, english, US)
my guess is it's from early '00, perhaps single mother and a lot of kids but set in 20s-40s?? they live in the country somewhat in poverty. at some point they finally manage to get a nice house and i think the mom describes it as cute as a button but it ends up burning down. i think with all the kids they share the same bath water and no one wants to bathe after one of the children because he's always dirty haha. also i think one of the older brothers is working some kind of construction and falls from a beam onto his back and possibly dies?
