For the past semester I have been on my period for around half of the time (it’s rare that I get more than a week without AT LEAST spotting). Around a month and a half ago I went to planned parenthood, they inspected my uterus and cervix and saw nothing abnormal, they also ran an STD panel and pregnancy both of which came back negative. The doctor said it was likely stress and birth control would help get me back on track, so I got the injection but the bleeding has not slowed at all. I am stressed (taking 18 credit hours and am a d1 athlete in season), but I’m worried that this is a medical problem more severe than stress. Should I go back to get a second opinion as soon as possible or should I wait until the semester ends and see if being less busy helps? Quite frankly, I’m scared, I’m regularly passing clots that are the size of a quarter. There’s also a layer of having diagnosed OCD and being worried that if I go back and ask for more testing and they deduce that, once again, it’s just stress, I’ll be viewed as “the girl who cried wolf” and medical concerns in the future will not be taken seriously. Looking for any advice on what to do, thank you in advance!
