TIFU by reading r/tifu on the toilet and making an egg literally explode

so i was hungry after the gym and i decided to boil a couple of eggs. i put them in a briki (its like a tiny pot we use for coffee) on the stove, turned the heat up so they boil fast, and went to the bathroom real quick.

huge mistake.

i sat down, pulled out my phone and opened reddit. i started scrolling through this EXACT subreddit reading other people's fuck ups. you know how it is when you fall into the reddit black hole. my legs started going numb and i completely forgot i even existed, let alone that i was cooking lmfao. i was probably sitting on the toilet for like a whole hour just reading.

suddenly i hear this loud ass POP from the kitchen. it sounded like a damn firecracker. i freaked out, pulled my pants up in a panic and almost tripped over my own feet running out of the bathroom.

guys... the water in the briki had completely evaporated. the egg got so hot it literally EXPLODED. I didn't even know this could happen i thought the eggs would just burn or smth...

im not even exaggerating, there is egg shrapnel EVERYWHERE. the yolk is baked onto the stove, there are pieces of shell blasted across the counter, and i just saw some egg white stuck to the ceiling of the stove wtf. the smell is absolutely horrendous too, it smells like a sulfur demon just farted in my kitchen.

and the best part? instead of grabbing a sponge and cleaning up the mess, my dumbass brain immediately went "wow r/tifu is gonna love this". so here i am, sitting on the couch breathing in burnt egg fumes, typing this post to tell you guys how i fucked up.

send help.

TL:DR: I put eggs to boil, got sucked into reading r/tifu on the toilet for an hour. water boiled dry, egg exploded like a literal bomb, and now my kitchen is covered in burnt egg guts while i write a post about it instead of cleaning.
