First post. Stepped in it today… context my daughter(step) is sixteen I’ve been dad since she was two and have been going through divorce stuff for last two years and daughter decided mother was too toxic too live with and has been with me for last year. Today I told her I was making appointment with our doctor and that I was going to see about getting her a gynaecologist… and she got really upset I told her that we weren’t going to see one but find out how to get one… she stormed off to her room… lol which is fine… but then came out in tears saying she didn’t want to go and wasn’t old enough cause she isn’t sexually active… I told her I was sorry and wasn’t going to force her to go see one or anything like that but we needed to talk her doctor about it… shes still in her room and won’t come talk… I’m okay with letting her think it out on her own and I know everything will be okay… but is there anything I can say or explain to her about why it’s important? My dad rationale is not working here! Is she too young to be finding one?
