Hi everyone,
I live in the German-speaking part of Switzerland and currently hold a B permit. I’ve been working as an IT System Administrator for almost one year. Recently, I was accepted into an MSc in Electrical Engineering (specialization in Embedded Systems) at a University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland.
I have a few questions and would really appreciate advice from people who know the Swiss job market.
- How is the job market in Switzerland for Embedded Systems engineers?
- Is it worth switching from IT/System Administration to Embedded Systems, or would it be better to stay in IT?
- As a non-EU citizen, how difficult is it to find a job in Embedded Systems compared to IT?
- When studying for a master’s degree in Switzerland, how do students usually find internships or practical experience?
My background is in Electronics and Telecommunications, but since graduating I have mainly worked in the tech/IT field.
Any insights or experiences would be very helpful. Thanks!
