Is a post fix required? If so, is the post fix different depending on if it's a version 3 version 4 version 5?

So I am in the market looking for a good headphones/earphones for gaming, I'm not interested in it having a microphone as i often play offline. It's gotta have good response and no delay, i have tried my Sony WF-1000XM4 and other wireless Bluetooth headphones on my windows gaming laptop but there's always a delay in the audio, someone said it could be driver issue or Bluetooth card issue but i seem to have the same issue with my switch. I'm using a Bluetooth Xbox controller for the laptop. Any suggestions. Or is a wired 3.5" my best bet?
