Getting by sent home very early.

I been working at a hub for almost 2 weeks now as a part time package handler not a “seasonal” and I been getting sent home early not even a hour into my shift the past 2 weeks.. is that to be expected? As a new employee? Like I would clock in and wait to be instructed and the manager would tell me to wait.. then 20 minutes later after standing and waiting they would tell me to go home.. today they asked if I would like to come in for a extra shift and I agreed, just to get sent home 20 minutes after they told me to wait… like I don’t get it.. it’s not because of volume it gets busy.. if I were to stay I would just do roll backs or sort the packages out. I haven’t even gotten trained or did the trucks yet.. I literally learned everything myself besides that.. am I cooked or should I still wait until I’m more into the job?
