Is my dad at fault for this lock getting stuck?

Hey all, my dad was at an airbnb and said the balcony lock was really hard to close all week. On the last day, apparently the blinds cord got blown in between the door and frame, and the host said that broke the lock and is invoicing him for $220.

My question is did my dad really break the lock when the cord got blown in? Im happy to pay if we’re at fault, but the fact that the lock was finicky all week makes me wonder. Pictures attached, thanks 🙏

I got the guiltless sirloin with very low expectations, but ended up with a steak textured like a tenderloin - it was cooked to about a medium but still really tender and juicy. I went home and got a choice top sirloin steak the next day, seared on a hot cast iron to 130F and it didn’t come close. So i come now to you all, humbled by the unknown chili chef. Please enlighten this hungry pilgrim🙏
