I’m very on the fence about choosing between piercing or splitting my tongue at some point. I love the simple look of the piercing, but I also absolutely love the unconventional “extremness” of a split tongue! I’ve seen folks split their tongue and then pierce the ends of each side, but I don’t think I’d like having two barbells in my mouth. I’m wondering if it’s possible to get a “shallow” split and still be able to pierce it in the middle? Would that require cutting the frenulum? I’m so curious!

I am able to ask my piercer father and some friends of his, but it’s 3am and I don’t wanna wait to ask lol
