I started statins and tirz (2.5mg) about the same time a few months ago. My BMI is now normal, and my LDL is now normal/low (previously very high). However, my HDL is now also low (too low, 40) and my previously good triglycerides are terrible (178). I find this very odd as I have been focusing on protein and have not been overeating on tirz, and have obviously been losing weight. I exercise regularly. The only thing I can think of is sometimes I get low blood sugar so need to have some crackers or juice. Could my triglycerides have spiked just over that?? I’m frustrated!!

I learned I have very high hereditary LP(a) so started treating my high LDL (200) with 10mg rosuvastatin. Also started 2.5 tirzepatide, have been eating pretty well, and lost 10 pounds. Now have a healthy BMI and good 57 LDL, but my previously good HDL is now down to 40 and my previously good triglycerides are up to 178. Can the statins be increasing my triglycerides?? Frustrating
