Open love letter to a former AVL JCPenney photographer
Hi, We miss you. You are responsible for my favorite photos of my very favorite person. You had taken my kiddo's yearly portraits most of their life.
I have no idea why your talents were hidden away in that little nook in the mall, but they shone through the limitations imposed by the space and corporate props provided. We rushed in to squeeze in one last session with you when we heard JCP was closing last year. You took my info on a post-it note, and said you'd reach out when you figured out where you would land.
Now, I lose tiny pieces of paper almost instantly, so I am hoping you just misplaced my number and weren't just humoring me. If so, and you are still perhaps still doing portraiture, please dm me. And if you were relieved about the studio closure and tossed my number immediately, that's completely fine too. Just know that we continue to love and appreciate your work every day.
Whatever the situation, I hope you are well and happy, doing something that brings you joy.
Thanks for reading, Asheville neighbors, from a somewhat nervous first-time poster. Fingers crossed.
