Help!!! Suspected sour crop and possibly egg bound
Please help my hen! She presents with a full, sloshy crop, foul smelling discharge from the mouth, projectile vomiting, white diarrhea and pain when trying to massage it. Stopped wanting to eat around yesterday morning and only ate grapes, aversion to water and when she did eat or drink she would throw up. She’s started to make a gurgling sound and stands and shakes her body as if she cannot breathe. She’s begun to burrow her head in her feathers.
As per her vent it seemed slightly swollen and has a hard underbelly. She hasn’t laid in a few days to my knowledge (not main caregiver). She has discomfort when sitting.
Gave her a bath, cleaned her vent, isolated her and fed her about one ml of monistat 7 and apple cider vinegar in the water. I realized later that she should not be eating or drinking anything at all. At this point should I just be making her comfortable? She seems so far gone and is maintaining the same pose as how my last chickens passed but I love her and don’t want her to go. We just were hanging and running around a few days ago.
