I've been divorced for over 3 years. When I changed auto insurance companies last year, my ex-husband, his new wife, and her two kids were listed as associated with me. My ex has never been on any vehicles I've driven, including the one our son currently drives, as we always registered them separately, though we did share insurance. And I've never been on any of his veichles.
He did co-sign on a vehicle she financed while we were still married (with my knowledge, it's a long and boring story) but as far as I know my name was never used.
I went to the CO DMV today to change my name on the titles of the two vehicles I still own and renew registration on one of them. I asked if they know what I need to do and was told no, since they're not on the vehicles themselves.
What do I need to do to stop having them show up as associated with me? Is it a credit bureau thing? My credit report shows his current address, which we bought as a rental property but my name is not on the mortgage or deed anymore.
