This is a long shot 95-97
1995-97 movie I "rented" in a local video store.
99.9 of the movie escapes me, but I vaguely remember it being about a boy, possibly an alien or cyborg, falling in love with a girl that was in a band. She wore a tutu and a denim jacket in true 80s/90s fashion.
Pretty sure the boy dies or leaves at the end, but that part is a little hazy. Haven't thought about it in decades, and now I cant get it out of my head....
