[ForHire] Experienced 2D game developer for hire to make your game idea at an affordable rate! And publish it to Steam!

About me as a dev

  • Experienced, self-sufficient, fast-paced developer, really gets things done.
  • Works on a clear/transparent timeline, usually I am pretty accurate with my development timeline estimates but I am always clear when things are ahead of or behind schedule. I will regularly commit updates to a shared github repo.
  • Not only can I build your entire game from start to finish, I can also make it Steam compatible, and get everything set up on Steamworks, get the build uploaded and approved, teach you how to use the platform, etc.
  • Edited to add: I do not use AI for the development of any game or assets, unless specifically requested by the person who has hired me.

My experience

  • I have developed and published 5 games to steam in the past couple of years (https://store.steampowered.com/developer/seedborne), the most successful being “Mythscroll” which I developed over 6 months last year and have made over $6,000 from so far, and continue to get sales of regularly.
  • All of my Steam published games so far are more UI based games, but I have also made a platformer, and a couple of "control a character in a world" style games. Here's my itch page to see my full portfolio of games: https://seedborne.itch.io/
  • One of my 5 games, “Royal Dental” was one I was hired to make, so I do already have experience making a game for someone else. For that game, I was only given a vague/general concept and designed and developed the entire game from that. So whether you have a fully fleshed out game idea with all the systems designed, or just a general concept, I can help bring it to life. (Edited to add: Royal Dental is the only game on my portfolio that uses AI, it uses AI assets because that is what I was given to use as the art for the game.)

What about assets for the game?

  • For game fonts, music, and sound effects, I have many resources for free assets that are legal to use for commercial projects that I can utilize.
  • Art is a little trickier, as it’s nearly impossible to use free art assets and get a cohesive looking result in my opinion. I can certainly try to handle the art, as I do have a lot of free assets, and I am also a new/learning artist and sometimes will try to make things myself when needed, but the art is the one thing I would suggest outsourcing if possible.

Rate and availability

  • $20/hour, or $15/hour with a contract for a 30% rev share cut for any revenue the project makes.
  • Available anywhere from 2 - 30 hours/week. Need at least 2 hours to get decent progress made.
