Thoughts on someone else keeping your order when you went there?

Thoughts on someone else keeping your order when you went there?

I made a large $300 order from Woolies for delivery this afternoon, it said it got delivered and I went outside and it wasn’t there. I called the store, which went to an AI machine, and I couldn’t talk to a human. Then I went to the Olive chat-box, who said to call customer service, which was closed. It has items for my 1year old and 5 year old in there, and my partner is away for work this week and it was 6pm. I had hungry crying kids, so I thought maybe it got delivered to the other address that is the exact same as ours, just the next suburb over (some trades have gotten confused in the past and gone there) so I went for the 9 minute drive.

I knocked on the door and a man answered and I asked if my order got delivered here since we have the same address, and there’s been mixups in the past. He said he just got home but he would ask his wife. We exchanged numbers, and I drove off trying to find a place to get milk that would be quicker than taking bathed-pyjamad kids through a supermarket.

Then I got a text from his wife, maybe 100 words long, in paragraphs, saying she kept the order as Woolies says it’s their policy to do so. I said “can I come and get the packet items? And the baby things?” She said she’s following Woolies rules and “god bless you” after she said she was keeping all my things, but throwing out the meat and cold stuff.

Anyway my re-delivery isn’t until 6-8pm tomorrow, which doesn’t help. Thoughts? Is this what we do now? I had a big cry over it just because I was so stressed and had no food to feed the kids, it was also a truly awful day at work as well, so it hit me really hard.
