Fyi, electrical is off. Fourth room that ive cut in by hand, no tape. does it look good so far or should I bust out some painters tape? lol!

hi all, does this chimney flashing look like it was done properly? there was some water intrusion evidence in the Attic right at the chimney location. upon closer inspection of the chimney I noticed that there wasn't a whole lot of tar slapped around the flashing. my other chimney for the fireplace has tar that extends up one or two bricks. let me know what your thoughts are. thanks

why would the previous home owner install these heat registers above the cold air returns? in the same wall cavity? would this increase or decrease air flow? I assume decrease...
