Help me, I’m doing a Bachelor’s Degree in Fr*nch, of all languages, and it’s getting unbearable 😭

I’m currently doing a Bachelor’s Degree in Fr*nch. Why? Because the only options were either French or Spanish, and I already understand Spanish, so I wanted to learn something new, so I had to chose Fr*nch. But while at first it seemed like a reasonable language, now it’s getting more and more stupid.

Like, the grammar rules don’t make any sense. The past participle sometimes agrees with the nouns for no reason. For example:

“Les baguettes que j’ai volées.” Means “the baguettes which I stole(“stole” according in gender and number with “the baguettes”) 😭

I’ve studied several languages in the past and Fr*nch has the stupidest grammar 😭

I still have 2 more years of university, so I’ll still have to continue studying Fr*nch… But at least I will be able to read books in one more language. The only good thing about learning this awful language is the Literature.

Sorry for my offmychest 😭

EDIT: omg, this is r/linguisticshumor, don’t take this so seriously that you get mad at me and downvote me. I’m literally just jerking on a circlejerk sub. Like all the other posts. I still hate french grammar, but i’m dedicated and I’ve been getting very good grades. And I still want to learn the language despite not liking it, for reasons such as literature, culture and work. This is a humour / circlejerk sub.

Alguém sabe onde encontrar zines em Portugal? (Lisboa / Porto)

Para quem não sabe, um zine é uma pequena publicação desenhada / escrita e imprimida por uma pessoa normal, normalmente em papel, e que costuma ter menos de 10 folhas. Podem pesquisar no youtube ou no google “zine” para saberem mais.

Quando eu vivia no Reino Unido, havia zines como este na foto acima na lojinha LGBT da terrinha onde eu morava. Mas aqui em Portugal nunca vi zines à venda em lado nenhum.

Alguem sabe onde encontrar zines em Portugal? Eu vivo no Grande Porto.

Na fotogrqfia acima podem ver um zine que eu comprei sobre a história das pessoas trans, que foi muito interessante.

Egun on!

I’m a girl from Portugal who loves langauges and linguistics, and when I tried to learn some basic euskara I was a bit surprised by how difficult and complex the grammar is. Especially the verb conjugations.

This made me wonder, how is it like to learn as an adult? Has anyone here learned it in adulthood? If so, how? Did you have lessons? Or did you study it by yourself? What did you find the hardest and the easiest things to learn?

(You can reply in Spanish or French if you want, I understand them but I can’t speak them without mistakes, that’s why I wrote this in English.)

Milesker for reading!
