I especially appreciated the insight into rip-off merch and shaming the 9:30 club in DC for being the only venue that refused to allow them to sell 5% of tickets at a reduced price to help low income fans.

Posting for visibility as his message will likely be buried in an old thread.

After some contradictory statements from the Plaion support email account Ben Jones from Plaion just confirmed in a thread I posted about functionality for the AES+

Also a handy demonstration of Cunningham's Law "The best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer"

By posting the different responses from the support email account saying it definitely wouldn't be using 2.4g and that they didn't yet know what tech the joysticks would use we were able to get confirmation of what will be used.

...and the good news is it's what I expected/wanted!

EDIT

Ben Jones from Plaion posted a response clarifying things and answering my question:

> Hi, Ben Jones from Plaion here. I'm going to update the product description tomorrow to confirm 2.4g RF for the wireless connections. Additionally, the joysticks will be microswitched, big ones for the arcade sticks and small ones for the gamepads. In the following months we'll be releasing further information, many thanks for your enthusiasm and interest in the AES+.

I posted a while back after Plaion told me firmly that they definitely aren't using Bluetooth or 2.4ghz but I've now received a follow up saying they haven't yet finalised the products so don't know what will be used and it could end up either or neither.

Same answer when I asked what tech will be used for the joysticks (Microswitch, TMR, hall effect, potentiometer etc.) - that is also not yet known.

I had assumed microswitch and 2.4ghz but maybe i'm being optimistic

Hopefully we'll get more information soon!
