Sanitizing without washing?

Hello all! I am in the process of redoing my wardrobe and upgrading to sustainable, true high quality pieces. I have these beautiful organic cotton leggings that i want to wear out, but i also want to wear them as much as possible afterwards before rewashing (i wash once a week). I’d hate to wash them after one wear again and again when they can be reworn before a rewash. Does anyone have any tips on how to safely sanitize organic cotton clothing (and linen) without messing with the fabric or washing? Thank you :)

Please help :( (spider plant)

This is my spider plant, Woody. I have had him since 2020 and he used to be bright green, full and so so beautiful. His ends would need trimming every now and then but otherwise he was a happy plant. He has always gotten at least 6 hours of indirect sun but sometimes a couple hours of direct light depending on placement.
We moved from a city to a suburb in 2023 and since then he has lost his vibrancy, and slowly started loosing leaves. In the last year or so its gotten worse. In the winters in my room, it gets so cold and i don’t think that has helped him at all. I can’t place him anywhere else because my brother’s cat likes to chew at him. So it’s either super warm in my room in the summers, or super cold in the winter.
I had previously had him in soil but he lost so many of his leaves that I had to remove him from that pot. I saw some people had great success placing their spider plants in water in glass. I did that a couple weeks ago but he is not getting any better 😢 i used filtered water because i don’t think the tap water here was good for him at all compared to the apartment i lived in previously (not sure if that makes a difference).
Please help me figure out what to do to help him. I cannot for the life of me get all the soil out of his roots and now one of them looks rotted. Do i need fertilizer? Should i move him back into soil? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
