Japanese Advice?

Solid win rate, gold 2 playing Japanese doing your average fast castle mounted samurai spam.

The part i’m too dumb to figure out is how to defend feudal aggro/harass?

Obviously towers save your villagers lives but the towers don’t really prevent or stop harass considering everytime i stick 5 villagers in the tower they’re “dead” until i make them leave the tower and even in mid gold no one’s dumb enough to just let their military die to the towers.

Should i make stables in feudal since they’ll still be valuable in castle? I really HATE the idea of making a barracks knowing all my shinto relics are going into my stables and i’ll just be spamming mounted samurai in castle.

I could do an archery range but the main issue i have is french aggression which.. i mean its horses. The archery range slows my castle progress and id lose every fight vs horses. That being said once i hit castle and get mounted samurai sprinkling archers in would be a great comp.

Idk kind of a rant just trying to give context. any advice helps honestly.

I play on Xbox my gamertag is TS Cringe, i know some of you guys like watching match histories on posts like these so i figured i’d include it.

Also going to add i have 234 hours of playtime, but a solid 100 of that was when me and my friends first started and all we did was FFAs vs each other with no real strat or external knowledge / research.
