The Japanese market may not rival China or the US in size, but don't sleep on it. Plenty of indie games have found their biggest audiences right here in Japan. Backpack Battles is a great example: it topped the global wishlist charts in Japan even before launch, proof that Japanese players actively seek out great indie games.

I'm a native Japanese writer and a lifelong indie game fan. I got into localization because I wanted more great international indie games to be playable in Japanese, and I offer affordable rates to help make that happen for your game.

If you're wondering "would my game work in Japan?" or thinking about localization, feel free to DM me. Happy to talk it through!

Hey everyone! I'm a native Japanese translator specializing in indie games, and I'm offering Steam store page translations at a heavily discounted rate to build up my freelance portfolio.

I have 10+ years of professional experience at a mobile game development company, but I'm still early in my freelance career. My goal is to help more indie games reach Japanese players, a market I genuinely love, so I'm keeping my prices low while I grow my client base.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Full payment upfront
  • Your project will be credited in my portfolio as a completed work
  • A surcharge of $10–$20 may apply for exceptionally long texts or games with heavy technical/specialized terminology (we can discuss this beforehand)

I'm also open to translating content beyond Steam store pages, so feel free to DM me for a quote!

Edit: This discounted rate is limited to 3 projects.
