Light colored raised spots on hand and hip - only moles?
Hello everyone,
I went to a dermatologist the day before yesterday for a skin cancer screening. The last time I went was 6 years ago, and nothing was found then.
I was asked whether anything had changed in the meantime, and I told the doctor about some light-colored raised spots and showed them to her. She said they were nothing serious. I had the feeling that she didn’t really look at the spots closely. I also told her that there are becoming more of them and that sometimes a kind of scab forms on them.
She still said it was nothing and that they were colorless moles. However, she didn’t examine any of them with a dermatoscope/magnifying glass.
I don’t feel comfortable with that answer.
Based on the pictures, do you think I should get a second opinion?
For context:
- I’m female, 28
- I get sunburned easily (I don’t sunbathe and I always use a very high SPF sunscreen)
- my grandmother had white skin cancer multiple times
- all of the spots are on my right hand, except for one on my right hip (last two pictures)
- the spots are at most the size of a pinhead (but flatter), only the one on my hip is 2–3 times larger
Thank you very much for your help!
