For context: I recently found out from a friend (who just resigned) that she’s required to render 60 days from her resignation date. I honestly didn’t know anything beyond 30 days was possible - she is in the banking industry.
What’s your take on notice periods longer than 30 days?
From an employee perspective, what are the pros and cons of this setup?
For HR folks in companies with longer notice periods:
- Do you strictly enforce it?
- Have you handled cases where employees didn’t comply? What happened?
And for recruiters/HR:
- How does a 60-day notice period affect hiring?
Are companies actually willing to wait that long for a candidate?
