I’m Protestant, but I often get frustrated with other Protestant apologists because they rarely, if ever, address the foundation of why we believe what we believe during interfaith discussions/debates. The nature of God and the Trinity are certainly important beliefs, but those topics often involve people talking past each other because they’re using different models of truth. Even discussions about infallible scripture usually don’t quite hit the mark because they tend to focus on the specific ‘infallible’ claim, not on the reality that both sides have a fallible foundation.
Since I tend to approach these discussions a bit differently than other apologists, I wrote a short book about it. The goal of the book is to help us move past those endless debates and actually address the specific reasons why we believe what we believe. Engaging with questions and perspectives from LDS members has challenged me and strengthened my own faith, and I hope the book can offer the same kind of opportunity for others, regardless of where they’re coming from.
If anyone has a YouTube channel and would be interested in discussing the book, I can send you a PDF of the introduction and first chapter at least.
