I'm a comms officer (Lieutenant) on an Intrepid Class ship. Unfortunately, during some unauthorized consensual communications with a Taresian female the Bio-neural gel packs in my comms panel picked up a pesky virus.
It's not affecting my ability to do my job, and the gel packs seem to be functioning normally. As soon as I noticed it I installed a prophylactic subroutine, which I'm pretty sure will keep the virus contained in my station.
Am I required by regulation to disclose that I picked up this virus? Or is the use of a prophylactic good enough? Don't I have a basic right to privacy? I asked my best friend, because he's picked up a lot of viruses from females, but he told me not to even use the prophylactic subroutine. And that just seems wrong.
