Painting ideas

I’ve started this painting but idk what to do with the lower part. I’m thinking maybe some grass that’s why I painted it green for now, maybe some trees? Does anyone have a good suggestion and also critique on what I have so far? Thanks!!

Critic painting

So I just finished a painting but it feels a bit off for some reason. I don’t know if it’s missing something or if something needs to be changed of fixed. Any tips?
It’s made with oil paint and it’s my first time painting waves, I have done skies before.

So I’ve been drawing for a while now and I really like to do realism but I struggle with creating my own art without references. I can copy reference picture just fine and even give it a bit of my own twist to it but no matter how hard I try, I can’t actually create something from out of my head. I’ve had this struggle my whole life with drawing.
Any advice on how I can become better at this?

Also i put a few of my drawings on this post, any advice on how to become better is always welcome!!
