I love hiking but I have a dumb problem. Every hat I try is fine for the first hour or two. Then I start sweating and the hat gets soaked. Then it sticks to my forehead. Then I get that gross feeling and I just want to rip it off.

Ive tried cheap baseball caps - terrible. I tried those mesh trucker hats - better but still sweaty. I tried a lightweight running cap - ok but no neck coverage so my ears got burned.

What do you guys wear for all day hikes in the sun? I need something that breathes well, covers my neck, and doesnt look completely ridiculous.

Also do you bring a second hat for the way down? Or just deal with the sweat? I feel like im overthinking this but its honestly one of the most annoying parts of long hikes for me.

Any recommendations for something that works in hot weather? Bonus points if it packs flat or fits in a backpack without getting destroyed.
