(SPOILERS, BE WARNED!!!!!) Finished Daybreak 1 for first time..... and it threw my plans into whack
After having waited long enough, picked up Daybreak 1 couple weeks ago and finished a playthrough of it. When I started out, my plan was to do a playthrough with maxing Gray + Chaos (ended up picking Ikaruga), then replay just the chapter 5 on with specially left safe with other two possible choices (Heiyue and Society) and finally NG+ Law playthrough, as I was given to understand that it ends up being the canon playthrough no matter what.
However, I already been wondering as I went through finale if I want to bother with the Gray/Chaos replaythroughs, given just how long and dragged out finale was, thinking that maybe I should just do Law NG+ and leave it at that, at least for now. But now as I have finished the game.... what a bloody cliffhanger of an ending.
You'd think they'd have to epilogue on what everyone did with the fact who Van is after finally finding out the truth, but nah, not even a word other than "it's still with me, someday". Equally as much there was nearly nothing about Gramheart's plan, other than one offshoot line when he reminded Harwood just before storming final dungeon that "hey, don't overstep the agreement" (for whole game I kept wondering why the heck Ouroboros is so active given that). Not to mention suddenly mentioning and dropping Quatre's origin or all the other stuff about Van/his items, or what Bergard dropped about "rewriting" at the very end, or Grimcat, or etc.
So big part of me wants to just say "screw is" and jump into DB2 now. Would people say that's a good choice? Is there a lot I would miss out on from skipping the other three paths (other than Ikaruga I stuck with now)?
