Bedbug or Batbug
Hi everybody, it's never good to need to post on this sub but here we are. Today I found what I believed to be a bedbug on my couch, I killed it instantly so I couldn't get a picture unfortunately but it seemed more like a nymph bedbug to me, 100% cimicdae family though because of the smell. Familiar due to an infestation I had last year that was taken care of by tenting the house. I've been tearing my room apart looking for any nests or signs of infestation and haven't found a thing. Like tearing the dust cover off of the couch and inspecting everywhere inside, going under my bed which already has a bed bug cover on it and I've found absolutely nothing. Normally I wouldn't question it, I would just be confident they're back and contact an exterminator but what leads me somewhat toward a bat bug is that last week I had my entire roof on the house replaced, only finished a few days ago, and I unfortunately acquired a couple holes in my ceiling from that ordeal. So part of me is really hoping it could be a bat bug despite it being still unlikely. For more context I live in Florida, and I haven't exactly seen bats coming from my attic but I've seen them in my neighborhood and I did used to hear noise up there before the new roof. I know you won't be able to give me anything definitively especially without a picture but any insight would be incredibly helpful, thank you.
