I'm going to join my 1st Govt/public sector Job next month.

Approx in hand pay: 1.6lpm post tax and if I take lease accomodation my net salary credit would be north of 2.5lpm.

Currently I had a salary account with PNB( Excel Salary Variant): I had a net salary credit of 65k, the main reason for taking up that was the Complementary Rupay Select Debit Card which had many perks and came at zero fees. But since there aren't any good credit cards that the bank offers, I'm thinking of switching to other options like HDFC/AXIS/HSBC etc

Key expectations: Access to good credit cards(CIBIL: 760, Credit Age: 2yrs), lounge access, good customer service etc

Please suggest me good options as per my salary range. Also I have some big expenses coming up in next 2 yrs( wedding, vehicle purchase etc) and monthly rent payment upwards of 85k.

Can verify with the mods

Background: 2 CSE attempts so far, 1 interview(2024)

BTech(ECE) 2024 graduate, non-Tier 1

Gave CSE interview in 1st attempt, but missed out by a narrow margin, couldn't clear prelims 25'. Appeared in various regulatory body exams, LIC, NIACL, EPFO.

Could reach Phase 2 in IFSCA GR A, Cleared UPSC EPFO written. Got offer from CSIR from Pratibha Setu, but within next few days fortunately made it to the RBI.

I would be happy to help Upsc Aspirants for the upcoming RBI Gr B examination, the vacancies are indeed less, but let me assure you this exam took lot less effort from what I put in during my cse mains, its doable given that you plan strategically.

I'm listing down the sources that I followed, any doubts beyond that can be asked in comments.

Phase 1:

QRE: 1st look at the memory based questions from edutap rbi guide book pdf.

For quant and reasoning find out the easy sections( for ex quadratic equations, speed maths, DI, inequalities etc)

Learn short tricks from kaushik mohanty youtube channel, quant faculty of edutap( there are one shot videos on YouTube), for practice attempt mocks from cgbmentors/edutap/oliveboard.

The overall idea is that you must quickly solve these easy 4-5 ques within first 5-6 mins.

Next, prepare 6-7 topics thoroughly, to such an extent that you know the standard method and you have also learnt the shirt tricks to do it as quickly as possible in the exam. I'm assuming that upsc aspirants are not very much in touch with quant and reasoning, so the idea would be to clear the sectional cutoff here, but if you feel that a particular section of yours is strong, try to maximize your marks.

GA- PIB last 5 months, reports, govt schemes ( manish mishra sir for pib on youtube, check the latest ones) brahmastra series for mcq marathon by cgb mentors. Static part is manageable with upsc preparation. The GA questions here are quite factual, unlike CSE, try memorizing facts from the mcqs that coachings provide.

Phase 2:

I took cgb mentors phase 2 course. It had max coverage with precise and crisp content.

Again do pyq analysis first.

From my analysis I found out that ESI paper mostly comes from the current affairs with very less weightage of static.

Therefore cover pib, govt schemes, reports ,social issues of past 5 months. For the objective section, try to make short notes consisting of exam relevant facts from various reports given in the syllabus, economic survey, budget, schemes( flagship+ those mentioned in pib, try to cover these in absolute detail, the questions are quite in depth)

For FM paper, rbi circulars, regulatory body news, finance current affairs for last 4-5 months.

For management, read and understand the concepts well, it is not necessary to replicate the exact definition in the exam, you can write it in your own words as along as the essence and meaning remains the same.

For the descriptive part,

Refer to the model answers on expected themes, in ESI its highly likely that a question on report would come, even if you are not able to recall the exact points, try to write relevant pointers and facts and examples that you have memorized for the objective part.

Try to maximize the word limit, the more close you are to the word limit, the better it is. Also the answer must have a clear structure, Intro-Body pointers-conclusion, it must not end abruptly due to paucity of time. Answers in point format is always appreciated as it gives more visibility.

Also since you would have to type the answers, try to practice that using the mocks or in the word document by setting a timer.
