Paleto Bay Police Department - Emergency Public Statement

On April 26th at approximately 11:13 hours, Paleto Bay Police Department units responded to an “All-Call” emergency broadcast issued by county dispatch regarding an officer-down incident in the Strawberry area of Los Santos, within the jurisdiction of the Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department. A deputy sheriff had initiated a routine traffic stop that rapidly escalated into a violent encounter.

Upon receiving the All-Call, a Paleto Bay officer currently on his meal break immediately responded Code 3, arriving on scene to find the deputy critically wounded. Officers, alongside Los Santos Fire Department paramedics, initiated lifesaving measures, including CPR, in an urgent effort to preserve the deputy’s life. The deputy was transported under emergency conditions to Pillbox Hill Medical Center, where medical staff continued advanced treatment.

Despite the rapid response and exhaustive lifesaving efforts, the deputy tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, reaching End of Watch.

At this time, the suspect responsible remains outstanding. Law enforcement agencies across Los Santos County are actively engaged in an extensive search. Due to the ongoing threat, a shelter-in-place order has been issued for the Strawberry area until further notice. Residents are urged to remain indoors, secure their homes, and report any suspicious activity immediately.

This senseless act represents a devastating loss to the law enforcement community. The fallen deputy served with honor, courage, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others. Paleto Bay Police Department stands in full support of the Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department during this difficult time.

Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
