Still trying to create sibling drama

Mom told me a few weeks ago in a way of complaining about my “ungrateful” SIL - that she paid for my nephew’s kindergarten tuition & “where’s the thanks she gets?” Mom has helped my brother out (financially) his whole life. I know this bc whenever she was mad at him- she would tell me & yes- I believe her bc brother tells me all
time- “mom told me not to tell you”. She does the same with me- don’t tell ___. Dysfunction amirite??

When I most needed it - in my 20s - I asked her for help with my rent one month. “no - you will never learn if I bail you out.”

So - on Mother’s Day (after some wine) I called her out on her one-sidedness with $ & her kids.

Mom- “Who told you I paid for his tuition?”
Me- “you did mom.”
Mom- “you never let things go.”
Me- “chalk it up to a good memory”

* Her short term memory is shit these days.

To be clear- I don’t need her $ now & I’m glad she is generous with her grandchildren (my kids included). I have a good relationship with my brother bc we survived her fits of rage & periodic neglect together.

Anyways- glad this treacherous holiday is over for all of us.
