My mother lives in UK since 2016 and has settled status. I am EU national and want to apply for a settled status as a dependent person from outside of UK.
I have a proof of financial dependency (regular money transfers from my mother) as well as report from my psychiatrist with a recommendation that I should move in with her. As well as statements from both me and my mother describing my situation and my dependency on her. What other evidence should I gather? What needs to be included in such cover letters?
Also since I was previously in the UK as a visitor my application would need a reasonable grounds for being late. At the time I wasn't considering moving into the UK, do I need to prove that in some way or is claiming that those visits were touristic enough?
Is it worth going for Family Permit if I don't need to? From what I understand, I don't need to apply for FP if I have biometric passport, as I can just use EU Exit app to apply for settled status.
I'm also looking for any other experiences from people who had similar experiences with applying as a dependent. How much time it took and how much trouble there was with it for you?
From what I understand, I need to prepare well before sending application as trying again after rejection or refusal isn't simple and would require lawyer's help.
Edit: I've also heard that you're supposed to select that you weren't in UK before 2020 even if that's not true, because your application will get automatically rejected. Is that true?
