Isolating track

Hi I’m very confused about isolating track originally these sets of points were just to get locos between each line easier then taking them off and it looks better but I knew the power would cut so I turned off the power on one using the spinny dial on the controller and used the other still went off so then I unplugged the power from the controller still went so what should i do do I need power isolators and how do they work or something else thanks,

Just why is great northern so last with their trains once I rode a train from Alexandra palace and the train was half get and half GX just with gnr printed on the side like their so lazy at Hornsey depot they just slap their logo on the side when they get a new train in.

hi was just thinking what is the station with the most passing trains was thinking one either on one of the mainlines close to London before the lines break up to different places but the three most busiest I’ve seen is Ealing Broadway Bethnal Green and Forest Gate with sometimes trains passing every minute anyone know??
