how should i lubricate a collapsible lens?

how should i lubricate a collapsible lens?

1935 leica iii f
leitz elmar 50mm f3.5

everything works fine but the only problem is that the lens is very stiff when collapsing and retracting. when i first bought it it took a lot of effort to pull it in and out, but after a few weeks of owning it it seems to fluctuate between high effort and medium effort when collapsing it.

i imagine its as easy as rubbing some kind of lubricant on the barrel and working it in? im just not sure what kind of lubricant to use, or if that process is even valid. any advice beyond just telling me to send it for CLA would be greatly appreciated

the first four pictures of my roll (1,2,3,4) had various light leaks and glimmers, but the entire rest of the roll (5,6,7 for example) were perfectly fine other than incorrect exposures. anyone know what went wrong?

camera: 1930 leica i model a, converted to leica iii model f
lens: elmar leitz 50mm f3.5 uncoated
film: fuji 400 pushed to 800

got this camera recently and couldnt find much info on non-color heliar lenses. even when searching for other heliar 105mm f3.5, they all look so different than mine. and in most cases i see they have the serial on the front of the lens whereas i couldnt find a serial number anywhere on the lens, only on the compur rapid shutter: 6486581

any info about this or advice about using this would be greatly appreciated.
