My MacBook has been unused for several years and when I went to use it last night, it wouldn’t work.

I called Apple and after several minutes on the phone they said I needed to take my laptop to Best Buy and have them reinstall MacOS, but BestBuy said since my computer is considered “vintage”, there’s nothing they can do to help me.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it possible to reinstall?
