


Here is the situation - please advice on what I should do .
I bought WB registered honda city used car on April 15th in Karnataka after I got NOC. Noc for the car is in my name which can be verified both in parivahan website and I also have original forms and NOC with me.
WB to KA transfer has not yet happened and RC transfer also not happened because of that.
April 27 was the insurance expiry date so I renewed insurance on my name with TATA AIG. During renewal they didn't ask rc proof etc. so renewed it before expiry only.
On May 2nd we met with an accident which impacted car's front right side and estimation to fix the car is 80k inr quoted by honda service.
We raised insurance claim soon after a day and in the app it shows repair approval given. But when I called the surveyor and his manager told that "Since RC is in one name(previous owner) and policy is in different name(me) - cashless claim is not at all possible. " Also mentioned you can first repair it yourself paying the bill now and then do the RC transfer and then we may approve for reimbursement claim.
So my question is why did they issue policy at first place if this was a issue for them?
What next step should I take to fix this entire mess of a situation.
Anybody who works or recently claimed from tata aig please advice on what I should do?
