My 16 year old niece has been staying with me. She told me she is gonna go to Safeway and steal alcohol and go swimming. Now in the past I would have said hell no and she would do it anyway. Her mom is gone a lot for work and is just not reliable she doesn't go to her dad's because of some issues they have. So I said you cannot do that unless I am with you. It goes against everything I believe in. It scares me. Is it better if she does it (drink not steal) under my supervision? I'm morally torn because since she has been staying with me She has been much better at going to school and chores and getting home on time. And I remind her I am not her friend I am her aunt I just know she will do it anyways. Idk what to do
I love her so much and am worried if she decides to leave here because she has no where else she can (or will) go.
