Unknown Base Locations for PZ Players (descriptions below)
In this post, I’m sharing some lesser-known and unpopular base locations for players who struggle to find new places to settle or are tired of building in the same spots every run.
I’ll go through the screenshots in order and explain the advantages of each location you can live like a king in some of these places.
1st image — Meadshire Estate
Located north of Echo Creek on the KY-60 road. This place is a luxury-designed mansion surrounded by several houses, complete with metal fencing, fireplaces, and a well. The entire area is naturally defensible, but if you head there early game, expect a pretty serious zombie population.
2nd image
This house is on the northwestern road out of Echo Creek. It comes with a pig and chicken farm, a well, a beautifully designed 3-story house, and even a fenced farming area ready for crops. Since it’s far from populated areas, almost nobody will bother you here. Honestly, you barely even need window barricades it’s one of the safest places to prepare against zombies.(and my favorite place)
3rd image
Located north of Irvington. There’s a lake right in front of the house, and while it’s close to town, it’s still relatively isolated from zombie-heavy areas. Easy access, low danger.
The interior is pretty simple and doesn’t have much loot, but it’s excellent for basic long-term survival.
4th image
Northeast of Irvington, north of the pig farm. This house has almost the exact same advantages as the previous one, except it’s two stories and has a double garage underneath. You can enter either through the garage or from the upstairs exterior staircase.
(The next four locations are in Louisville if you pick these, come prepared.)
5th image — Fancy Mansion
Located southeast of Louisville Central Park. These are some of the most luxurious homes in Kentucky. The neighborhood includes sculpture galleries and several uniquely designed houses. By blocking only a few road entrances, you can claim the entire neighborhood for yourself.
Most houses also have pools, meaning water shutoffs aren’t nearly as painful even in the middle of Louisville.
6th image — Fenced Housing
Possibly the safest location in the busiest part of Louisville. By blocking a single entrance, you can secure a massive area and build a fortress in the heart of the city. For players looking for a serious challenge, this is the final destination.
7th image — Gated Community
A dead-end neighborhood located between the Louisville campus and the industrial district. The entire area is surrounded by tall walls, and once again, blocking the entrance gives you an extremely defensible base.
8th image — Cornered Fenced House
Located south of the horse track near the Louisville beach houses on KY-1394. Compared to the rest of Louisville, this is a relatively calmer area with a very defensible house. Great choice for players who want a softer start inside Louisville.
9th image
The only fully walled residential area inside Irvington. The biggest advantage here is the swimming pool yes, you can fish without ever leaving your base. By sealing just two entrances, you can secure the entire neighborhood for yourself.
10th image — North Farm
Perfect for players who don’t want to leave familiar territory, especially those who never want to move far from Muldraugh.
Its proximity to the town’s largest lake and the prebuilt chicken farm make it one of the strongest long-term survival spots in the area.
(The next locations are for people who want to live completely isolated from the world.)
11th image
Located in the far southeast of the state, deep in the swamps and lakes. It’s an abandoned house on an actual island. You reach it by building a bridge and if you destroy the bridge afterward, you may never see another infected for the rest of your life.
The downside? You’ll have to build almost everything yourself from scratch.
12th image
Northwest of the previous location, hidden in the forest near the water treatment plant. It’s an abandoned little clearing with a tent and campfire enough to cover the absolute basics while staying completely isolated from everything else.
