Hello all! I'm reviving my dad's vintage Pioneer PL-518 turntable and SX 750 receiver. Got extremely lucky and all initial problems were solved by toggling the switches and pots on both units. Now the only thing left is replacing the stylus on the AT12XE Cartridge. The original cartridge would have been the Pioneer PC-135 which he must have replaced at some point, but it's been sitting for 20+ years and I want to replace the stylus to avoid record damage. I can't find any originals, and see that LP Gear makes an aftermarket replacement (https://www.lpgear.com/product/ATSAT0012XE.html). Would this be the best option, or is there an even better stylus I could replace it with? Google searches seemed to be very positive on the AT12XE cartridge, so I was just wanting to replace the stylus, but open to cartridge options also. Just trying to get his gear he bought in college back to it's former glory!
