Hi Darkroom Subreddit, I have found this Oldschool Rodinal in a flewmarket. So the Rodinal itself didnt crystalized. It is my first time using a vintage developer - it would be great if you could give me any Tips before opening the bottle ?

And am I able to use Modern Fixer with this Vintage Developer or would you recommend an oldschool Fixer ?

Agfachrome AP 44 (E-6 compatible) processing instructions – translation from German

I found this German Agfachrome process sheet and translated it for anyone shooting old Agfa slide film.

Reversal Film Processing

AGFACHROME PROCESS AP 44

AGFACHROME PROCESS AP 44*

Processing

Darkroom lighting Complete darkness until after the reversal bath.

Processing according to PROCESS AP 44 / E 6. Standard processing data for dip & dunk machines**

Processing bath Abbreviation Time Temperature (°C) First developer 44 FD 6 min 38±0.3 1st wash – 2 min 33–39 Reversal bath 44 RE 2 min 24–39

Processing in complete darkness

Processing with room lights on
Color developer 44 CD 6 min 38±0.6 Conditioner 44 BC 2 min 24–39 Bleach 44 BL 6 min 33–39 Fixer 44 FX 4 min 33–39 2nd wash – 2 min 33–39 3rd wash – 2 min 33–39* Stabilizer 44 FI 1 min Room temp (~23°C?)

· Corresponds to Kodak E‑6. · Different processing conditions in various labs and machines allow only average values to be given.

Capacity. The processing capacity of the first developer and color developer (without replenishment) is approx. 0.45 m² per liter. The maximum capacity of all other baths is 1.35 m² per liter. After approx. 0.3 m² per liter, the first development time must be extended to 6 min 30 s.

Replenishment

The usable life of the individual processing baths can be significantly increased by regular replenishment beyond normal capacity. The baths can then be used for a long period without making fresh solutions.

Format (per film) Area (cm²) Replenishment amounts* for first & color dev. Replenishment for bleach & other baths 120 518 116 ml 11.6 ml 6.5×9 cm 60 14 ml 1.4 ml 9×12 cm 110 24 ml 2.4 ml 4×5 inch 125 28 ml 2.8 ml 12×16.5 cm 198 45 ml 4.5 ml 13×18 cm 235 53 ml 5.3 ml 18×24 cm 430 96 ml 9.6 ml 8×10 inch 510 111 ml 11.1 ml

*The stated replenishment amounts for the most common film materials are only guidelines.

Safety recommendations To avoid skin or eye irritation, strictly follow the handling instructions on the chemical packaging.

Sensitivity-increasing development Extending the first development time can increase the effective film speed (e.g., 33% = 1/3 stop?). With longer first development, a loss in quality (e.g., reduced D-min) becomes noticeable.

Hope this helps someone still shooting Agfa Chrome!
