Refunds and complaints - be aware!!
I've posted a few times regarding the shocking service from Etihad, that should contain any background information you may require.
Refunds
My refund has now been processed, HOWEVER they haven't refunded the full amount. My seat booking fees and stay in Abu Dhabi were not refunded. I noticed this from my online bank account (no communication from Etihad). I then contacted Etihad again to request the full refund. They stated that it was an oversight and they'll be actioning it in a few days. I waited, and then I received a refund for the stay in Abu Dhabi but not the seats. Again I contacted Etihad to request this and I was told it might take a week for the seats to be refunded. I'm still waiting for this.
Complaints
I submitted 2 complaints to Etihad regarding their disastrous handling of this situation. I then chased this up as I hadn't heard back from them. I was told that since I submitted a 2nd complaint regarding the same booking, my 1st complaint was deleted! That's not an appropriate way to handle complaints!
I was told that my complaint was with a handler and I'd have a respons within a week. I then received an email which was a template saying they're sorry and that I can request a refund! Erm, I've already requested a refund, and that doesn't address my complaints or request for compensation. I replied to that email but later contacted Etihad to see how long it would be for my complaint to be addressed. I was told that my complaint had been closed as I'd already received a response!!
Summary: check your refunds, Etihad are trying to get away with paying partial refunds. If you have complained, expect a template email which doesn't address any of your complaints. Once you have received a response your complaint is closed, so you need to contact Etihad to ensure your complaint is properly addressed.
