So my mom has 2 cars, one of which she let's me use at my disposal. Our insurance recently lapsed and her policy will no longer insure me, and I have to find my own coverage. My mom is offering to "sell" the car to me and transfer the title to my name. Do I put the car in my name and get basic liability insurance, or do we leave the title as is and I purchase non owners insurance? What is more cost effective?
