SO.. I posted a week ago but it was removed. However, since then I’ve gotten a lot of advice and kind help. You’ve all been so, so great ❤️

I want to note, I can see where the blue shimmer got away from me on the one eye. I tried a gold eyeshadow but I went a little more tanned/bronzed with the face this time and it just doesn’t pop as much as when I do a look more similar to my actual facial tone.

I have rosacea but it mostly affects my face and my face is fairly pale and very red in certain areas because of this. I only recently started trying full coverage but I mostly focus on hiding/lessening the red. I use light amounts of differing shades of concealers and foundations depending on where the rosacea is.

Aside from the gold not popping as much, I think I’ve made some progress with blending the eyeshadows. I also tried blush for the very first time. I’m not sure it’s in the right place but I don’t really know what to do with blush because my main concern has been focused on hiding my red face so it’s hard for me to judge what looks good.

Another thing I tried for the first time was lip color. The NYX stuff is matte so I’m assuming that’s why my lips are all crackly here. I’m wondering about how I might make my lips pop a little more and a nice shade that looks fairly natural and smooth. Maybe a light, slightly brightened lip liner sort of the same color as a fair highlighter or concealer?

I have high cheekbones, fair skin but red cheeks, chin, nose, and middle forehead. Full lips but lips can always use a little pop.

Anyways, aside from the messiness of my lines (I did this in a poorly lit living room by the mirror in my vintage train case with a book light 😝) any and all advice and help is welcome.

But please, tell me I’ve improved since the bot fiasco post 😂😭

The last two photos are the nails I was wearing the first time we saw each other after two years of NC and she thought they were so cute. Notice the second set is longer and way more decorative while the first set has a modest, simple, rainbow gem design. Don’t even get me started on her making my nails about herself with her narcissistic, virtue signaling story about how she totally defends the very cishet male she works with who does his nails because he’s in cosmetology school. Anywho, I can’t wait to rock up with my new pink/purple hair, bright makeup, and nails she explicitly told me she didn’t like because baby, I’m all about the loud and proud. She’s going to hate me this June 😘🌈

My aunt Rah passed when I was a teenager. When my grandmother passed, my mom inherited the house. We had some issues and a big part of it was her not showing any interest in me and who I am. It ended with me cutting her off for two years.

We’ve been slowly rebuilding our relationship and I stayed over with her this weekend. As I was leaving she stopped me and shuffled off to the basement. She came back with this case. She had found hers and my aunt Rah’s train cases and she said “I know you’ve been getting into makeup and I thought aunt Rah would want you to have this”. It’s the only thing I have from my aunt.

I was so excited, I immediately transferred my little collection of makeup into it. It’s the coolest thing ever! I was using a pouch I crocheted and one of those tiny 3 drawer plastic storage thingies. I love that I can just take it wherever when I go out of town or leave home for a few days! It even smells like old makeup! Like, new makeup has added scents now but it has that cosmetics smell that makeup used to have. It’s a little dusty on the outside but this bad boy is sturdy!

Anyway, just wanted to share this neat basement treasure and a little story.
