[90s Rap-Rock] Cash Up Front by Olympia Tran

This is my attempt at doing a Rage Against the Machine-style anthem about getting paid. 💵It's ~kind~ of an issue song, in that wage theft is a real problem, but it's mostly just a cathartic banger. It's also my son's favorite song on Olympia's Fire Me Up album -- I gave him an asst. producer credit. At Limehouse Records, we believe in nepotism (like the real music industry!). 🗡️🩸

[Slop Hop] Weird Flex, Bro by Blocks Off Tuesday

This was my best attempt at making actual AI slop. I'm not even gonna claim there's much artistic merit here. I went with the first thing I could think of that rhymed. It's pretty funny though. 🤷🏻‍♂️ For fans of the Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D, The Lonely Island, etc. The art was a MS Paint doodle I perverted with AI.

The voice is mine, too (I'm in the machine now) so this is a preview of how awful I would sound if I actually tried to sing my songs. 💩

[Hard Rock] AK! by Olympia Tran

AK! is a straight forward hard rock song that is both its own thing and an homage to Hells Bells. It's Olympia picking up the mantle of rock -- which, let's be honest, has seen better days -- and telling you who she is. She's not a force of nature like Brian Johnson. She's not even human. She's an AK! Cheap, reliable, probably stolen, mass-produced, dirty af, can take a hit and keep ticking. The first song on her debut album Fire Me Up, it sets the tone for what follows.🔥

Try hybrid workflows with Suno v5.5 & v5 together.

Have done a bunch of testing on Suno v5.5 vs. v5 this past week. They are different tools. v.5.5 does not replace v5. v5.5 works best as an editor for specific tasks and for some genres.

What v5.5 does well:

  • Fewer artifacts.
  • Amazing when you like a melody but want to change lyrics or rearrange a song. When you do this in v5 it carries over a lot of vocal and melodic artifacts from previous runs you have to do something with. You often just can't do this in v5.
  • Strong in some genres -- in particular, I made a beautiful acoustic unplugged track with it that v5 couldn't match, had some success with hip hop & soul.
  • Fixes problematic mixes from v5.

Where I don't like v5.5:

  • It over sings everything and adds dumb yelps and vocal ticks. Real songs don't sound like that.
  • Weird tinny sound on many mixes. Vocals sound good but often do not sound real.
  • Baroque arrangements that don't serve the song.
  • Mix/decaying issues for rock.
  • Not as creative on v5. In particular, it seems MUCH more lyric driven than v5 (which was already really driven by lyrics). I had v5.5 give me the same OK melody for 10 songs for the same prompt whereas v5 gave me 10 different bad ones. BUT at least they were all bad in different ways!

What I recommend: Hybrid workflows.

Idea gen in v5 -> get the song clean in v5.5 by tweaking lyrics/rearranging structure -> rerecord in v5 (if necessary) for final polish.

Strongly recommend giving a hybrid workflow a try!
