I'm having a back and forth with Custome Service and the property and I want to know whether I've gone crazy or doing something wrong.

I booked a place about two and a half months ago, and the booking is for 10 days starting as of tomorrow. Everything looked fine, I already even checked in for my flight and today the property messaged me via WhatsApp with the entrance codes but also stating a rule that no visitors are allowed in the building.

This is something I normally check for in the booking's rules. I am an adult and I like to have an occasional guest over for a date (sue me if you must, it's a consensual, non-paid-for relationship between adults, albeit occasional). Or at least I like for that possibility to be there. The posting stated absolutely nothing about visitors not being allowed, which I interpret as them being indeed allowed.

When the property sent me this message I questioned them about it and stated they are the rules of the building, and that it's not up to them. To which I stated that this would have been fine had they informed it in the posting, or beforehand. Now I am fighting them to have the booking cancelled, but they are pushing back with Booking stating that I intend to have parties/events (which is absolutely not the case).

I feel like I'm going crazy because I don't think it's so farfetched to think that an adult might have to want a visitor over at an apartment they booked without having to pre-register them, and this if this is the case I should be informed about that beforehand. Might go against someone's moral stance, but that's not my problem. Booking is pushing because they need the property to specifically accept the cancellation/refund, which they are refusing to do.

What do you all think?
