Blue'a good boy yes, but he's also the nervous type.

It's great that he's getting used to people and they want to approach, but i always get the same question, then the side eye when i say "he is, but he's energetic and in training". What i really mean is: " he is but we don't know you or what you'll try"

What's your go to response to this? I can't be the only one. Trying to teach my nervous boy that the world's ok sometimes while still keeping him safe and fighting the stigma...

Update from my last post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ballpython/s/NmIe37TPs3

Took longer than i would've liked due to year end financial difficulties. But about 2 months ago I finally splurged and upgraded my little Q-ball's enclosure.

Setup so far:

4x2x2 PVC front loading cage

Manually built & silicone sealed

Hvac bubble sealed the screen top

Small round stick on button hygrometers (planning to upgrade)

Lighting/Heating:

T5 48in light bar for his day/night cycle

100w halogen heat lamp (planning to upgrade to 150w) digital thermostat controlled

Side mounted heat pad (warm side) [built in thermostat]

Enrichment:

Cool side & warm side hides

Fake foliage for clutter (buying more in passing)

2 linked wooden climbing loops

Small downed log decoration to climb through

Flat climbing branch (side/floor leaning)

I have a couple more things purchased but not installed yet 😅.

Going to get a tension rod for clumbing too.

It's slow moving but doin my best.Times r still a bit tough but i plan to improve it little by little as i go.

I'll say he looks a lot happier immediately. 1st night climbed all the walls & i can hear him rooting around in there. Short hunger strike while he adjusted for a little over a month, but has since eaten and become more comfortable being seen.

Thank you all for your advice and the help from this sub. If anyone has any low priced good upgrade ideas, please send them my way 🫡.
